March 1, 2016 (Fort Worth, Texas) – Camp Fire First Texas provides day camps in northeast Fort Worth, Aledo and Granbury; as well as overnight camp, equestrian camp and grief camp in Granbury. Camp Fire summer programs enrich and support youth through life-skill lessons, outdoor adventures and by developing leadership skills.

Programs offered in 2016 include:

Camp Fire Camp El Tesoro

  • Located at 7710 Fall Creek Hwy, Granbury, TX 76049 on a 223-acre site where the Brazos River and Fall Creek meet.
  • Camp El Tesoro has welcomed four generations of campers since 1934.
  • The whole family can experience camp first-hand at a FREE Summer Camp Previews on April 17 and May 7.

Overnight Camp – El Tesoro offers an overnight camp experience where girls and boys ages 6-16 find fun, friends and awesome adventures. El Tesoro provides a range of summer camp options from a four-day session, perfect for a younger camper, to a 6-day and 13-day session. From hiking, canoeing and horseback riding to swimming, a high ropes challenge course and crafts, campers enjoy a full spectrum of activities designed to find their sparks, lift their voice and discover who they are. Equestrian Overnight Camp – Activities focus on beginner and intermediate level horsemanship skills. Mornings full of riding, horse care and barn studies with plenty of time in the afternoon full of traditional camp activities to give campers a well-rounded experience. Guest speakers will also be on hand to demonstrate and share on topics such as “Horses for Healing”, trick riding, horse care, veterinarian care and much more!

  • Campers entering grades 4 – 10

Nature Day Camp – Enjoy full days of making new friends, exploring outdoors and learning new skills. Nature Day Camp offers eight different weeks of exciting nature studies for campers, featuring art, interactive/hands on activities, outdoor adventures, all mixed with fun summer camp activities such as swimming, hiking and archery that will have your campers begging to stay all summer!

  • Monday – Friday, May 30 – July 22
  • 7:30 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • $165 per week, $25 optional overnight
  • Campers entering grades K-5 

El Tesoro de la Vida Grief Camp – A week-long overnight camp for girls and boys age 6-17 who have experienced the death of a loved one. The camp week is made up of 90 percent traditional activities including horseback riding, canoeing, hiking, crafts, swimming, and sports. Camp Fire Day Camp

Camp Fire Day Camp offers weekly field trips and a variety of activities keep kids happy, active and interested all summer long. Children participate in recreational activities, arts, swimming, nature study and field trips to local attractions. A youth adventure program emphasizes community involvement and volunteer work for children ages 10 – 14.

  • 7 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  • $120 per week, multi-child discount, scholarships available, CCMS accepted
  • Ages 4 – 12
