TAMMIE HANKERSON
Program Director of After School
Tammie Hankerson serves as Program Director of After School at Camp Fire First Texas, overseeing the organization’s Walsh, McCall, Stuard, Annetta, and Coder school sites.
Tammie has 30 years of experience in Early Childhood Education, with her first child care job being in a social services daycare where she worked with drug-addicted babies. Through this experience, she realized that her heart was tied to teaching and helping children reach milestones in their lives despite the circumstances they were born into.
Along with decades of hands-on experience, Tammie holds several certifications, including Montessori 0-3, CDA preschool, CDA infant/toddler, and director credentials. What she loves most about her job is spending time with children, guiding them through growth situations, and helping them find their niche.
Jenny is a member of the National Afterschool Association. She was previously a Girl Scout leader and Young Marines adjutant.
Raised in a military family, Tammie was born in Japan and grew up in Denver, Colorado. (She’s a big Broncos fan!) She moved to Aledo, Texas, in 2000 and has raised six children.
