Melanie Marshall
Associate Vice President Youth Development
Melanie Marshall is the Associate Vice President Youth Development. She joined Camp Fire First Texas in October 2016 as the council’s director of afterschool programs and later served as senior director of afterschool programs. In her role, Melanie oversees all afterschool operations. She directly leads her team in the design and implementation of program curriculum to meet the unique needs of youth at all Camp Fire afterschool and school-based summer day camp programs. In addition, she evaluates program quality and effectiveness and works closely with after school staff providing training, coaching and feedback.
Melanie has more than 30 years of experience working with children in the early childhood education field including after school programming and summer camps. She has more than 20 years of experience in program management, staff supervision and leadership. Melanie has a Child Development Associate Credential and holds a Texas Department of Family and Protective Services Director Certificate.
She is a member of The National Afterschool Association, The Association for Childhood Education International and The Association for Early Learning Leaders. Additionally, Melanie was identified as one of 25 emerging leaders who was invited to participate in the New York Life Foundation funded Lea(rn/d)ing Network in which she later served as an advisor. She was also selected and attended the American Express Leadership Academy in 2018..
