Debra Hanus
Director of Community Professional Development
Debra Hanus serves as the Director of Community Professional Development for Camp Fire First Texas. Debra began her career with Camp Fire in 1996 as an early childhood mentor, served as director of professional development since 2009 until she moved to her current position in 2023.
She directs all external professional development training and instructional activities for the department including courses for the Early Childhood Management Institute (ECMI), Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, and Creative Training Solutions (CTS), and Early Educator Institute (EEI).
Before coming to Camp Fire Debra worked at a national child care provider chain for ten years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas.
