Karea Scroggins is the Early Education Apprenticeship Manager for Camp Fire First Texas Early Education Apprenticeship Program (EEAP).

She joined Camp Fire as the Early Education Apprenticeship Navigator in early 2022, focusing on recruiting new apprentices and retention efforts by supporting apprentices as they navigate the program. This support extends to supporting graduated apprentices who have completed the program in registering for college as well as obtaining financial aid to support their educational journey.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and is completing a Master of Science in counseling from Texas A & M Commerce. She has taught early childhood – 6 grade and has applied these talents to classroom teaching for 13 years.

Following her teaching, she was a community outreach coordinator. Each of these roles uniquely prepared her for the opportunity to support and navigate apprentices through their process successfully.

In this role, Karea is able to fulfill her professional passion of assisting early educators to achieve their dreams of obtaining higher education degrees. This is an extension of her motto from when she worked with children, “If you teach one, you will reach one.”

Karea is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) and the international service organization, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated.
