JOB SUMMARY:

The Community Partnerships Specialist is responsible for providing and implementing quality programming to girl members in economically disadvantaged assigned areas. She/he will focus primarily on mentoring, developing and delivering resources and maintaining partnerships to assist with the girls programming in the school, community and with the product program. She/he will assist in promoting Girl Scouting values while incorporating the principles of girl led experiential and cooperative learning, and programs which are aligned with, and results in Girl Scout leadership outcomes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

1. Responsible for assigned program-grade level areas to ensure delivery of programs and program enrichment to troops through outreach efforts and services to girls.
2. In partnership with the girl and volunteer experience team, she/he will develop membership and program goals to ensure the membership is representative of the area served.
3. Implements programs in accordance with the Girl Scout Leadership Experience delivery model in order to meet girl needs in underserved communities.
4. Assists in achieving the council’s membership and retention goals for girls by development, coordination and delivery of quality events, curricula, and additional resources as driven by market needs.
5. Performs ongoing program evaluation; identify and implement program improvements to enable more effective and efficient achievement of outcome measurements and girls’ needs.
6. Responsible for implementing year-round recruitment strategy through enlisting girls, securing troop leaders and other volunteers to support and deliver the Girl Scout Leadership Experience in the Girl Scout troop model.
7. Cultivates relationships with appropriate community leaders, schools, organizations, and businesses to support retention efforts.
8. Prepares action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to meet goals.
9. Provides planning support to service unit registrar, school liaison, recruiters and other professional and volunteer staff in support of new member recruitment efforts.
10. Develops and maintains program partnerships and collaborations.
11. Responsible for implementation of grant funded programs in accordance with funding requirements.
12. Prepares action plans and assist in the design and implementation of consistent and appropriate outcome measures for outreach programs.
13. Implement the Youth Enjoying Summer (Y.E.S.) summer program.
14. Utilize Girl Scouts customer relationship management system.
15. Utilize technology to prepare status reports and documentation of activity, follow-up and
adherence to processes and goals for recruitment.
16. Ensure integrity of data (Salesforce, Infoscout, etc.)
17. Works with cross-functional team to ensure the effective and seamless delivery of recruitment
strategies and processes.
18. Seeks opportunities to engage and cultivate relationships with appropriate community
organizations, agencies and leaders, educators and faith-based institutions to increase
awareness of and participation in Girl Scouting and support recruitment efforts.

Education/Certification: Minimum: High school diploma or its equivalent (GED)

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  1. Assist in the creation of a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the physical, social, and emotional development of children

  2. Perform duties as planned by the Director or Lead Caregiver for the assigned classroom

  3. Assist in implementing the curriculum planned by the Director or Lead Caregiver

  4. Interact with the children in a way which conveys respect and nurturing

  5. Support the social and emotional development of children

  6. Engage in active play with children; this will often mean getting down on the floor to interact with them

  7. Provide activities and opportunities that encourage curiosity, exploration, and problem-solving appropriate to the development levels of the children

  8. Maintain accurate and appropriate records for children in the assigned classroom.

  9. Attend to the personal hygiene of each child in your care, including changing diapers or soiled clothing and washing hands

10. Maintain a safe environment based on safety standards set by the Center and state guidelines

11. Help other staff in preparing meals for children as required

12. Assist in the cleaning and straightening of the child care rooms

13. Work cooperatively and effectively as a team member by communicating and contributing information on a continuous basis

14. Assist in the development and facilitation of interactive parent and child literacy activities

15. Maintain open, friendly, and cooperative relationship with each child's family and encourage their involvement in the program

16. Continue professional development through attending workshops, conferences, and other staff development opportunities

17. Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible

18. Perform other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director
