Fort Worth, Texas (February 4, 2014) – Camp Fire First Texas announced the election of new board members at its annual meeting and centennial opening January 30 at River Crest Country Club. The newly-elected board members for 2014 are: Kelli Walter, Edward C. Lange and Jake Yarbrough

They join returning board members: Jerri O. Akers, Heidi Coombs, Kimberly DeWoody, Dolores Garza, Marilyn Gilbert, Michele Hahnfeld, Terry Haney, Dan Hansen, Brant C. Martin, Bill McCoy, Tod M. Miller, John Molyneaux, Cheryl Moore, Steven W. Novak, Evelyn H. Richardson, Jenene Schaffer, Chuck Sheridan, Linda Spinger, John Strong, Monica M. Thomas-Bonnick, Lynda Tiedtke, Jared G. Vitemb, Kay L. West, Lori West and Drenda Williams Witt ; and 2014 board officers Brandon L. Chase, Chairman; Lauri Curtis Hadobas, Vice Chair, Administration; Barbara B. Cook, Vice Chair, Financial Development; Judd Pritchard, Vice Chair, Planning; Jenene Schaffer, Treasurer; and, George W. Bean, Jr., Secretary.

“Each year the annual meeting is an important time for us as volunteers to look back on the previous year and frame our focus for the upcoming year to best support Camp Fire. This year held much more meaning in that we were also kicking off the centennial year’s celebrations and events,” said Brandon Chase, 2014 chairman of the board. “There are a number of events the community and alumni can take part in. It is my hope that the entire community supports the great work of this organization and their longevity by getting involved at some level in the centennial celebration.”

Camp Fire First Texas began in Fort Worth in 1914. It is one of Fort Worth’s oldest child and youth development agencies, serving more than 20,000 children, youth and adults annually. Past living board presidents were recognized as were living Gulick Award winners, one of the highest esteemed organizational awards that can be given to a volunteer.

Special Camp Fire artifacts including photos, uniforms, posters and ceremonial gowns were available for guests to view and take a walk through time.
