Camp Fire First Texas is Again Designated a Best Place For Working Parents, a Camp Fire First Texas blog

Fort Worth, Texas (February 12, 2022) Camp Fire First Texas has, again, earned The Best Place For Working Parents™ business designation that recognizes a commitment to supporting working parents through family-friendly policies and practices. Through a self-assessment, policies, access to childcare and other organizational practices were evaluated to determine the extent our working environment supports parents and, by extension, their children.

“As an organization that leverages data to inform ways to support youth and their development, we know it is vital for parents to be supported as well. We are proud to be recognized as one of the Fort Worth businesses who are leading the way in supporting employees, specifically working parents, through family-friendly workplace policies and practices,” shared Lauren Richard, president/CEO of Camp Fire First Texas.

She added, “The self-assessment process has also been instrumental in identifying further actions our organization can take to grow a more robust family-friendly working environment.”

Best Place for Kids!™ is the organization that evaluates and presents this business designation and was founded in response to data that showed children in Fort Worth were not performing to their full potential. It is an unprecedented local public-private partnership led by Mayor Betsy Price and Tarrant County partners including the City of Fort Worth, philanthropic foundations, nonprofits, business leaders, and experts in quality early learning and child care, community schools, and early education policy – dedicated to lifting up innovative practices and broadening support for strategies to build the Best Place for Kids!™

About Camp Fire First Texas

Camp Fire First Texas is one of the largest Camp Fire councils in the country and invests in North Texas communities by providing out-of-school time and outdoor learning programs for children and youth while also offering workforce development programs for the educators who care for them.

Camp Fire programs stand out from others as they are uniquely focused on the two periods of greatest brain growth and development: early childhood and early adolescence; they leverage the impact of the outdoor environment on the brain to educate and connect children to each other and the world around them and maintain a continuous improvement loop to maximize community impact.

We envision a community in which every child has equitable access to quality learning opportunities that cultivate the skills they need to succeed and thrive in a rapidly changing world.
