Director of Marketing

Sara Mitchell serves as Director of Marketing at Camp Fire First Texas, overseeing the organization’s marketing, communications, social media, and customer support teams. Her detail-oriented mindset drives her creative process and her ability to juggle a variety of very different tasks.

Sara’s involvement with Camp Fire started when she joined a Camp Fire Club in third grade. She continued through high school, earning a WoHeLo Medallion (the highest youth honor in Camp Fire) and graduated from CIT at Camp El Tesoro in Granbury. Her experiences with Camp Fire built her love for the outdoors, service, and lifelong learning.

Sara’s grandmother and mother also attended Camp El Tesoro, making her a third-generation El Tesoro camper. Her children will continue the legacy as fourth-generation campers in years to come.

Passionate about the work of Camp Fire, Sara loves how her job is to connect families, youth, and child care professionals with the organization’s incredible programs. Before her current role, Sara worked at Camp Fire as Brand Manager and Communications Coordinator.

A native Texan, Sara was born in Houston and raised in Waxahachie. She graduated from Waxahachie High School and studied business at Navarro College. During downtime, Sara enjoys collecting art, gardening, and reading.

Sara is a Public Relations Society of America, Greater Fort Worth Chapter member. She is also a Waxahachie Rebekah Lodge #381 member, serving as Treasurer.

She and her husband reside in Waxahachie with their two children, two cats, Valentine and Spot, and a rescue dog, Radar.
