817.831.2111, ext. 144
Kellee Tyrone began as a Child Development Specialist at Camp Fire First Texas in May 2021. In her role, she serves as a mentor and supports professional development efforts for early childhood educators who participate in the School Readiness and workforce apprenticeship programs offered through Camp Fire.
She has deep roots in both early education and mentorship, having previously worked with the Head Start program, Educational First Steps, the United States Peace Corps, as well as serving as an international English Teacher in China.
Kellee gravitated to this position because it allows her to use a strengths-based approach to unlock a person’s passion for child development. In her role, she hopes to bring research-based educational strategies to statewide programs, while engaging early educators who have the potential to positively impact the life trajectory of Texas children.
Kellee holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Public Administration from Stephen F. Austin State University. She also carries an Urban Nonprofit Management certificate from the University of Texas at Arlington, is a Certified CLASS Observer and registered trainer in the Texas Early Childhood Professional Development System.
She is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children and a frequent volunteer at the Cedar Ridge Nature Preserve in Dallas, Texas.
