Brian Miller is the Vice President of Outdoor and Facilities for Camp Fire First Texas. He began as the Council’s vice president of outdoor in February 2018 and later his role was expanded to encompass facility oversight for the entire council. In his role, Brian oversees the strategic direction and implementation of all programs at Camp El Tesoro, including overnight and day camps, the El Tesoro de la Vida Grief Camp and the Texas Outdoor Education Center.
Having volunteered for Camp Fire El Tesoro de la Vida grief camp since 1993, he is familiar with many aspects of the organization, including preparing, staffing, and operating outdoor programs. Previously, Brian worked in the role of a clinical services supervisor at Centene, and advanced through a number of leadership and clinical roles in his ten-year employment at MHMR of Tarrant County.
Brian also oversees the maintenance, use, and access of all Council facilities that include Camp El Tesoro, a 223-acre camp facility, the Zem Neill Resource Center and attached childcare facility both on Meacham Blvd as well as Diamond Hill Station, a free-standing afterschool and summer program site in Fort Worth.
He holds a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Abilene Christian University and a Bachelor of Science from Texas Christian University. He is also a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Texas. Brian is an avid triathlete and enjoys combining his business and clinical experience with his passion for the outdoors.
