William Zurcher is the camp director for Camp El Tesoro.

He is responsible for the hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of staff. Bill designs and implements fun, memorable and safe camp activities and programs that are developmentally appropriate for youth of all ages and backgrounds.

He also coordinates the retreat experience for outside rental groups to determine how Camp Fire programs can best serve them and meet their needs while visiting El Tesoro.

William has served in a number of positions at Camp Fire First Texas including the retreats and rentals coordinator, a member of summer staff, a challenge course instructor, and a program specialist. Bill’s journey with Camp Fire began as a youth when he attended Camp El Tesoro for nine years.

William is an instructor for the American Red Cross and is certified in First Aid and CPR. He is a certified level one challenge course facilitator and is USA Archery Certified. Bill specializes in teaching outdoor cooking and outdoor living skills. He is a member of the American Camp Association.
