Ahh Summer. Longer, lazier days filled with backyard BBQs or picnics in the park with family.

While summer is a great time to recharge and get a much-needed break in routines, it is also a great time to reflect on the year and set goals for the upcoming months.

Try this fun activity to encourage your child/children to reflect on questions and warm up their critical and creative thinking skills while also having the opportunity to think about their Sparks.

Parent Guide

Activity

Plan: Have your child/children reflect on their accomplishments/ successes this year, as well as think about their goals for the future. (Use the question prompts in the Parent Guide.)

Supply & Create: Use the supplies once they have formed their lists and assemble pictures or words that reflect their goals for the future.

Share: Have each child share their vision collage with you and others in the family.

Hang the collage somewhere prominent to allow your child to reflect on it daily. As an adult in their life, revisit some of the initial questions to “check in” on how they are feeling about their goals and the progress. If something isn’t going according to plan, guide them through the Reflection Questions in the Parent Guide to redirect and learn from set-backs.

Summer is a great time for fun and this actvity is a great way for kids to set goals and be ready to start the new school year.
