Fort Worth, Texas (January 30, 2018) – Camp Fire First Texas has appointed Christina Middlebrook as the Council’s new vice president of development. Middlebrook joined Camp Fire First Texas in March 2016 as the vice president of outdoor programs. In January 2018, she became the council’s vice president of development. As vice president of development, she is responsible for fundraising, including annual giving, special events and corporate and foundation gifts.

Prior to joining the Camp Fire Staff, Christina developed and directed Green Revolution, an environmental leadership platform focused on increasing environmental stewardship and E-STEM skills of students at the Botanical Research Institute of Texas. Christina has vast experience not only working with youth, but with corporate relationship building, event management, and developing and guiding programs. Her work as a high school science classroom teacher, AVID coordinator, teacher mentor and director for an out-of-school time program gives her a unique outlook on development and management of nonprofit fundraising.

Christina believes in Camp Fire’s mission to help youth find their voice. She enjoys helping students discover their strengths, and teaching youth how to use those strengths to have a positive impact on our world.

Christina holds a Master of Arts in science education from the University of Texas at Dallas, and several certifications including an Educational Leadership Certification from Harvard, a Nonprofit Management Certification from University of Texas- Austin, and two teaching certificates.

She serves on the TCU LiINK Advisory Board and several Read Fort Worth Committees.  Christina is is a member of Leadership Fort Worth, the North American Association for Environmental Education, and the Texas Science Education Leadership Association.
