Kathy Wymer is the Director for Camp Fire’s Child Development Center. She believes that each child can learn and that teachers and the center should provide the environment and opportunities for learning to take place. Each day this is the philosophy she adheres to and cultivates in the Child Development Center.
Kathy is a Lubbock, Texas native and an alumna of Texas Tech University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a kindergarten endorsement and math specialization. After graduating, she worked for ten years as a kindergarten and pre-school teacher until transitioning into leadership roles.
Serving as an assistant director and later starting a private preschool in 2004, Kathy was most recently the director of a specialized, non-profit preschool for children who are hearing impaired. Her success in building and starting a preschool will greatly support the goals of the Camp Fire Child Development Center as they become a model school for the state.
Kathy lives in Southlake with her husband, David. She has two sons, Zac, who is at Texas A&M and Josh, who is a senior at Keller High School.
