El Tesoro de la Vida is planned and staffed each year by more than 50 compassionate volunteers who give a week of their time each summer.
Volunteers should enjoy the outdoors and participating in a variety of outdoor activities, but need not be skilled in camp activities or have grief camp experience. Positions are available for cabin counselors, horseback staff, lifeguards and other activity leaders. All volunteers will receive training in listening skills, the stages of grief and an orientation to camp.
Individuals wishing to serve as a volunteer will need to complete a volunteer application, criminal background check and give personal references. Volunteers are then interviewed by the camp directors and lead staff.
