The El Tesoro de la Vida Benefit Dinner directly supports our week long grief camp. The camp is held each year in August at our scenic Camp El Tesoro in Granbury, Texas. El Tesoro de la Vida provides an accepting, normalizing camp experience where children, ages 6 - 17, who share the experience of the death of a loved one, can cry, play, laugh and spend time with one another.
Last year, 109 children grieving the loss of a loved one were able to enjoy a traditional camping experience while receiving counseling from licensed therapists. Most adults have experienced loss and grief, but children do not always have the skills needed to cope with their loss effectively. El Tesoro de la Vida helps children learn these skills alongside their peers.
The evening offers guests great food and a wonderful program that will leave you moved and even more passionate about the great work done for the children at El Tesoro de la Vida Grief Camp. As the dinner has been graciously underwritten, we kindly ask that you consider making a donation to our camp scholarship fund.
